EHC on Hiatus (Again)

We have decided to hang up the towel on EHC for the time being, but we are still making music together and will continue to do so. Here's what we are all doing at the moment: Teddy is rocking out with Polymnia Nyx, Kevin has recently started up his new side-project Handsomely Dishonest, and all the boys, with the help of Polymnia Nyx are planning to hit the studio in the next few months to make sweet, sweet music together.

You can check this site (We'll be updating everything to the new site soon), as well as Aux Sable Records for updates of all the side-projects we EHC boys are working on.
Also, we've updated the Mediapage so it has the most recent recordings of the songs we had completed with vocals. All the others were too incomplete to post, but if we ever get back in the swing of things and wrap them up, we'll be sure to post them for your listening pleasure. Thank you all for all of your support over the years, and we hope to see you all soon. *kisses* ehc

Finalizing Music and beginning on lyrics and song structure

So far we really haven't told you much about the album. so i guess it's time you found out. first off, let me tell you that we are extremely excited about the subject matter. it's an incredible story told from the beginning to the end of the album. we can't tell you what the story is. we'll probably keep that a secret until a week or two before we release it. it's a short story, and thus we will be releasing a six song EP to tell the whole thing. we will be releasing new t-shirts and other new (and fun) merch to coincide with the release.

We're not going to rush something out to you just to meet a deadline, so a release date is not set in stone yet. but we've made great progress the past few weeks. so far we've story-boarded the entire album, split it up into songs, wrote music for most of the songs (still working on one), and conceptualized the lyrics for all 6 songs.

Currently, we are working on turning the music we've written into its appropriate structure for each part of the story. certain scenes require a different feel, so instead of making the story fit the music, we're restructuring each song to fit the story. We have subject matter all written out for each song, but once the music is a bit more finalized, we can begin work on actual, permanent lyrics.

This is an very exciting time for us. we're working very very hard on this album to bring you something that you will enjoy and that we will be proud to give you. we've spent many long nights in creating what we have so far. We have a few pictures to show you of us working on different ideas in the studio. there's only one window out there, so it's easy to lose track of time. most of the time we call it a night around 7am when we can no longer even see straight because we're so tired. If all goes as planned, we should be recording semi-final versions of these songs sometime in late may.

Thank you for checking back and keeping an interest in our work. This is our passion, and our lives. you are the one's that keep us going. our fans, our friends. we will be playing shows once we're done recording to promote the record, and we can't wait to see all your smiling faces once again.

Continuing work in the studio

EHC spent some more time in the studio and got the structure of a couple of songs finalized. Let me be the first to say, wow. I have no doubt that you guys will be happy with what you're going to hear. We're going to keep working on structure and lyrics for the remaining songs and hope to start actual recordings in late May. Keep checking back for updates!

New Material 2007

Hey all! currently working on some new songs in the studio. we're really happy with what it's sounding like. we're taking steps in a slightly different direction with a lot more substance to our songs. It's definately still Eight Hour Company, but we are extremely proud of our new work. As soon as we get some pictures and videos of our work in progress, we'll be sure to share it with you. Thanks for checking back! We love you.

Happy 2006 from Eight Hour Company! Yeah it's been a long time since there's been an update. Thank you to everyone who came to see us for the halloween show. You made it a whole bunch of fun! We've been working on some side project stuff, and working on new ideas and new songs for Eight Hour Company. We really want to make the next show something special, and for this reason, we're putting shows on hold until we have a bit more new material to rock your faces off with. Don't worry, it shouldn't be too long before you'll be in the hospital due to our face-rocking abilities, but we really don't want to let you down. We appreciate everything you (our fans) have done for us so far, and the next generation of EHC songs will be something you can really enjoy. Let's face it, you've heard Quit Wearing Trucker Hats enough to know that trucker hats are teh suck, and This Night has never ended. A new rendition of the website is in the works, and I was kinda trying to get that up and running, but I decided it would be a while, and you guys deserved an update. Thank you so much for your continued support, and we love you. -ehc <3

EHC has been working hard on some new songs. We have the foundations and concepts for a few new songs and we're really excited about them, like really REALLY excited. The details for the Channahon show have been updated. We hope to see all of you there, it's going to be a FANTASTICLY AWESOME time. -ehc

October is upon us and you know what that means... Halloween Show. October 29th at Channahon Skateland, check out the shows page for more details. You better wear a costume, 'cause it's going to be an awesometime. We want to see all your smiling faces screaming back at us. In other EHC news, Eight Hour Company now owns a van to go to shows in, it needs a little more fixing up, and then license plates and insurance, so you may not see it at our next show, but soon. We just need to raise enough money for license plates and insurance. So pick up a t-shirt or sticker if you can. Thank you so much for all your help, it means so much to us. -ehc

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the sandwich show. It made us smile super big. also thank you to the peeps who came out to see us at the summerfest battle of the bands. It's been a rush. Another show is in the works for sandwich sometime soon, and we look forward to playing. Our next definate show is on Oct. 29th, yes, it's a halloween show, so you need to dress up, or else you'll get an atomic wedgie personally from me (kevin). It'll be so much fun. Also, a show in Carbondale, IL is in the works. Our newest finished song "Less Than Three" is mostly recorded, and once it's completely recorded, it'll be uploaded to this site for you listening pleasure. Thanks again for your continued support. We love you from the bottom of our hearts. -ehc

Battle of the bands today in Minooka, where summerfest is held. Show starts at 6pm, I'm not sure what time-slot we got. There's a few other bands playing that you should definately check out (the art of sacrifice, the turning point, poetry in motion), so plan on staying the whole time. It's good music with good people. Unfortunately our new song titled 'less than three' will not be ready for the show today. It's finished, but we want to re-work some parts of it to make it better, so we'll playin some oldies but goodies. Come out, scream the lyrics back in our faces and it'll be a great time for all! We plan on debuting the new one (maybe 2 new ones) at the sandwich show on september 17th. We love you. -ehc

EHC has been cracking down. We've got one new song finished titled 'less than three', and another song almost finished. We're very excited about both. Dave has created new T-shirts and they'll be for sale at our next shows. They're real neat with this elephant deal on them and this circus behind it all, and all different colors of shirts. We've got a Halloween show lined up now at Skateland on October 29th. It will be quite fun, we expect you all to dress up for it. The show in sandwich got pushed back to Saturday, September 17, 2005 due to rain. This is probably good though, more people will find out about it because school will be in session, and the more people, the more fun. Come and see us this friday as we play our little hearts out. It's where the summerfest stage is set up in minooka (corner of wabena and modamin). <3 ehc

Updated the lyrics (finally). "This Night Never Ends" lyrics are up. Learn them, then sing them back to us at our shows. love always -ehc

Oh yeah... we got shows and a new song. We're working on recording the new song now. It's called "Less than Three" and it's about... neat stuff. You'll like it we promise. EHC is playing this HUGE festival-o-bands in Sandwich on August 13. It's going to be a ton of fun. There's going to be 11 bands playing and when I get a list of all who is playing I'll put it on the shows page. Tickets are only $8. Come see one of us, if you can, for tickets, cuz we all have them. I'm sure we can get carpools of people to go up there cuz it's a little far, but we guarentee fun. Also, on August 26th we're playing a battle of the bands in Minooka. If we win, then we play at Summerfest the following night, if not, we go and watch whoever won and eat corn dogs. So you kids need to come out. Bring some friends and sing along!! we love you. -ehc

Show!!! This friday, as long as teddy doesn't have to work. This will be fun! Come if you can, sorry about the short notice. We would be more than thrilled if you showed up to scream our lyrics back to us. Also, check out our purevolume site. <3 ehc

The new recordings are finally up, and i just finished setting up our purevolume site (which should be approved within 72 hours). So sit back and enjoy the new recordings, burn them to cd, listen in the car, in the shower, or even while you're in the car! Tell us what you think in the guestbook. Hope you enjoy! Lyrics for This Night Never Ends will be up soon, as will a link to our purevolume site. Thanks for checkin back! -ehc
